4 Years in the Making...We still have so much more to learn

June 25th marked our four year anniversary!   We headed to the place that still brings great memories and scenery.  Laguna was were we celebrated our 1st anniversary and ever since then we love coming back.  Highlights of our "love getaway"-- listening to a marriage sermon by Art Azurdia (a complete blessing, I recommend for couples), thinking of things we want to do different for year 5, no kids, missing our kids, our lovely conversations, and our prayer time together. He truly is my best friend.  BFF!

The bed and breakfast was great and breakfast was yummy.
For dinner we headed to TiAmo Restaurant where there's been plenty of celebrity sightings, including our very own Jack Bauer and Magic Johnson!
Ocean view was splendid (except for the 10-15 minutes sun in my face)

Scheduled for lunch--ZPizza, the first one we ever visited and had us hooked!
Relaxing and reading at the beach.
Our new friend, Mr. Crab

Trekking down to our last stop, after a fun filled day...
Red Velvet- always amazing!
Strawberry cupcake- 7, it tasted like flour

Marriage is a blessing.  Marriage to PJ is a blessing.  Displaying Christ and the Church is a tremendous privilege, that should be observed with trembling, love, and grace.  Thank you Lord for the trials that have molded our marriage, and sanctified us both.  Mr. Peek, I love you so, but WE MUST love God MUCH more.

San Diego

A few of us were in San Diego for a ACTS29 Boot Camp Conference. PJ, Kuya Dennis, and Niko attended the conference and from what I got from them, they were all edified and hit with new- fresh ways, and convicting ways to look at "community"at CrossView. Tita Angela, kids, and myself stayed back at the condo.

Wednesday night, the rest left and PJ, I, and the kids stayed behind at kuya Dennis' condo. The next morning we headed for some breakfast...

and CupcakeSquared. I'ver heard about this place from Krissa and Selle's blog, so I decided to visit since it was close to where we were staying. I was sadly disappointd with these cupcakes. I thought the cake was to sticky, and muffin-like, at times. Although the frosting was very good. I give this place a 6 out of 10. I'm not sure what Selle and Krissa thought about this place, but everyone likes different things in a cupcake, but they just didn't do it for me :( ...still searching for the ULTIMATE CUPCAKE!

A great 3 day out of town trip. Many good conversations about CrossView Chruch life. A great great day to hang out with the family and enjoy each other's company. Thank you Lord.

"Yummy cupcake!" (in cookie monster's voice)

I forgot when I drooled over these yummy cupcakes from Crumbs. They were way big, but good. I hate that they are sooo close to home :( I need to stay away!

Cupcakes: carrot, red velvet, and devil dog
Rating: 8.5 red velvet, and 8.0 for carrot, and devil dog

Family day

For family day on Monday, we headed over to Travel Town at Griffith Park. It was so fun having Rock up close, and personal to vintage trains and transportation (which is great for picture taking since Rock and Key's room will have that feel!). We had a great time and hope to be back soon for a picnic (we didn't know they had picnic tables!).

They have a mini train that goes around the park...super cool!

We then headed over to Milk, for some good red velvet cupcakes. This place has been on my hit list for awhile ;) I had a good feeling about these cupcakes since they were not refrigerated (a key to knowing whether their good or not).

Another stop at the much needed car wash. PJ was rushing because of the timer, all the while, trying to dodge the long hose overhead. It was just too funny, I had to take a picture to remind us of the experience.
Spider-Man tried to fight me over the scrumptious cupcakes, but I knocked him over with one my pinkie.

Milk rates about a 8.5, they could have used a little more frosting.
