uncle Yek visits
Yek arrived on Saturday. PJ went to the airport to pick him up and Yek called him letting PJ know he landed and is waiting for him. PJ, just to make sure, asks Yek if he is at Regan airport (17 minutes away from our place), Yek perplexed, has no idea what the heck "Regan" is, he says he is at Dulles airport. PJ calls me and says he is the best brother ever, because he has left his brother stranded at Dulles airport which is an hour away. Thank God for Yek's patience and ability to laugh at silly situations.
Rock's birthday present from uncle Yek.

We walked to Eastern Market to eat and hang out, Yek loved the neighborhood and atmosphere here in DC. It was a beautiful day but DC's weather is so weird because at 8:30 pm it started to rain, actually pour. Yek thought it was pretty weird too. So we all got a little wet, except PJ, he got soaked running to the car so it could be closer to us...what a hero!

HERO
PART I
Humanity often screams for hero's, although many don't know it. A world that would make more sense and seem more purposeful in an ever so changing world, that is trivial and fluent. Mere humans can only dream but can't succeed in what they long for. It is left to those that can do the impossible....-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
PART II
The Enabler's health began to fail without notice and without pardon. His beloved owner Rock, tried to nurse him back to health but with no prevail.
Rock, a mere human, needed to do something he never thought would be possible --he must do what the Enabler successfully did--serve and protect a lost society.
THE END
(Thank you True and Brave!)

a joy...
It was a joy to have my hubby back! Although he had lots of work to do (a 10 page paper) he vowed to take us out to a nice dinner.
Elijah's matching scooter.
Me rocking my 80's shirt....I love the 80's!
Our blurry family picture.
My hubby smiling all hard...
Praise God for allowing PJ to go to the conference and be encouraged. I also thank God for him being back home safe, as well as the other staff and interns.

We miss you...
So, I have been home with Elijah and Key (no, I did not give birth yet) without our beloved abba. He is in Kentucky with the CHBC church staff and other interns at T4G. I'm secretly jealous. We are so excited to see him, Lord willing, tonight. I've been trying to keep busy but yesterday was probably the hardest because Elijah needed some serious all day discipline and new obedience training we've learned here at CHBC (they're great!). By God's grace, he helped me do it in a loving, godly way, but we all missed him so.
Abba we love you and can't wait to see you and talk to you and give you lots of hugs and kisses!!!

Elijah woke up with happy birthday songs and much clapping--on his cue. The birthday presents had to wait for daddy to come home early and share in the excitement. He liked his gift, although mommy wanted to surprise him with the Radio Flyer wagon, daddy talked mommy out of it because of our short time here and the transportation back home issue :( But Elijah enjoyed what we did get him, and played, played, played!

Eagerly waiting for daddy to open.

At his birthday lunch...
Enjoying his other present of bubbles and ballons...he's a simple kid :)
Elijah's first time at ChuckECheese for dinner.

Yummy healthful birthday cupcakes from Sticky Fingers, they were good!

Good-bye ChuckE!
What a blessing God has graciously loaned us.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY OUR LITTLE ROCK!
Happy 2nd birthday! Mommy and Abba love you and thank God for the joy you've been in our lives. Our love for you continues to grow and we get excited and nervous of you growing up to be a man. Mommy and Abba pray that God will graciously allow us to raise you in a way that constantly points you to Christ. We love you SO much and hope you will enjoy yourself today.
You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.

So long Browns
The Brown's left yesterday but not before a scrumptous Five Guys lunch. Their burgers are so good! Even PJ thinks they're better than IN-N-Out burgers, except, we all agreed, that In-N-Out has the better fries. Both the Tibayans and Browns, are forced recovering In-N-Outoholics, Five Guys met our cravings just fine.
Good-bye Browns, perhaps we will see you all again when Key is 2 years old :(

The Browns are in town!
Derek and Amy arrived Friday night from Kentucky! PJ and I were excited to see the two of them. There's been sweet fellowship and have beeen enjoying hanging out with them. On Saturday we did some touring, Derek wanted to see the Air and Space Museum, so we moseyed on over.

PJ and Elijah love making funny faces together, this is one of their signature faces :)
Praise God for fellowship that is rich and points to Christ. It's been a delight hanging out with the Brown's. Elijah has, of course, grown attach to them. On Saturday night he cried for Amy before we went to sleep...my Elijah is too dramatic!

On Saturday night we were invited for desert to celebrate the engagement of Patrick Schreiner (PJ's intern colleague) and Hannah! Congrats again!!! We are excited to know that Christ, by his grace, will be displayed in your marriage.

Cherry Blossoms
We has the opportunity to head over to the Cherry Blossom Festival, and it was nice. On Saturday they had a kite parade, or show, or display, or whatever it was, and I was excited to take Elijah so he can see the many kites all over the sky above...it was a great sight. The cherry blossoms made everything look so pleasant and made the Jefferson memorial look even more memorial :) We had a great family fun filled, action packed, joyful day in the Lord!

Sunday service: The Importance of Gender
Mark DeverGenesis 1:27-30
1.The Creation
2.The Image of God
3.Masculinity
4. Femininity
5. Popular confusions
6. Explanation of Gender
During the evening service, I was rebuked and encouraged. Sam Lam, reviewed what a biblical man and woman are like (Titus, Timothy) and encouraged the congregation to desire to be like these men and women BUT then he rebuked some and asked who do we practically look up to? Guys tend to look up to athletes, tough guy figures (Jack Bauer), the successful, the career man, etc. and women tend to look up to the fashionista, the beautiful, the crafty, the career woman, etc. We could say "well, I look up to godly women and Christ" but then we must ask ourselves the question-- where is most of our time spent? Or where is our constant admiration at? I was encouraged to seek to follow women who are sold out to the Gospel and display it all over their lives, not just on Sunday mornings, but everyday. I pray that I may be a woman who desires to be more like Christ (which lets be honest, this is hard work, so if it is hard work, then all of our time needs to be here) and imitate the women that follow him and putting who I admire, in its rightful place or cast away. Being Christ-like and admiring women who are godly, needs to be infinitely more than wanting to be like other women who have great beauty, talents, etc. Don't get me wrong we can appreciate and practice our individual gifts and likings, BUT where our time and energy and love, and satisfaction, and desire, and passion, need to be is at the feet of Christ and following mature women in Christ. I hope this encourages and/or rebukes you, as it did me :)
*May husbands (or godly sisters/bothers) help their wives (sisters/brothers) see their blind spots.
