A visit from "Lola-ueta"

Rock wanting to push Lola-ueta around :)4 generations...amazing!
I have Rock call my grandma Abuelita but he decided to join "Lola" and "Abuelita"-- we enjoyed the sweet combo. It was the first time they met, and we were so glad to see her enjoy Key.

I pray for my grandmother and her salvation, my mom is faithful with sharing the gospel and constantly pointing to Christ. Lord be with my mom, and open my grandma's eyes.

Happy 2nd

Key turned 2! Well, she hit her 2 month mark today. She's growing fast and is getting cuter every second. We are so thankful to the Lord for her. PJ often says (not sure if he thought this or read it somewhere), that perhaps the Lord made babies so cute because they require so much time and energy, so taking care of them is still enjoyable, despite the fatigue. She sure is cute, and she makes me tired :)

Our little Key can...
sit with mommy...
droll on herself...
cry louder...
kick harder...
and stare like a gangster.

Hunting with the Hunter...

Sunday was our lunch date with our lovely friends, the Bratchers. Throughout the day we were amused with the friendship that Rock and True enjoyed and re-established.

Just as Ruby (The Memory Hunter) commented, everything Rock did--True was right behind him...
standing...

dancing...running...taking a break...

Brave and Key relaxed and did not bother interrupting their siblings.

Taste Tester?

So I told PJ that I have a new job...

PJ: What is it? (with an unbelieving look)
Me: I will search for the best cupcakes in California, no, in the country because I'll taste some in New York too!
PJ: How will you get paid?
Me: With cupcakes.
PJ: So you don't get paid, we pay for the cupcakes and the gas...
Me: Yeah

So it began with Sprinkles, and then with Babycakes Baking Company in Torrance.
I had the list below and their ratings are accompanied...

Rich Chocolate w/ Chocolate Mousse
- Dense, moist, rich chocolate cake piled high with a light, super creamy chocolate mousse.
(6, if you like mousse, which i love!)
Vanilla w/ Vanilla Bean Buttercream - Vanilla cake with a fresh whipped cream filling and slathered with a yummy vanilla bean buttercream. (5)
Carrot Cake Cupcake (5.5)
Black Bottom Cupcake (5)

The owner was very kind, she saw Elijah outside with PJ and asked if he'd like some cookies, I said sure because PJ would love that, and she gave them to me for free. Elijah got a tiny bite :)

Overall rating: 6, but then again I did go when she was closing, so her cupcakes could taste better during the day.
The reason we were in Torrance was because PJ held a Bible study in Torrance at the Arevalo's home, it was another treat to see old familiar faces :)

Taste testing-family day...

For our family day, I decided we'd try two places that have been praised by our dear friends and family (the Bratchers and Jennifer). We headed over to Veggie Grill to see what all the fuss was about, and it was very good, but my lovely husband might say it was okay.

...Then we headed over to Sprinkles--my, oh my, the red velvet melted in my mouth. For some reason I am not a big fan of cake BUT cupcakes our my favorite, and Sprinkles on my chart (still pending) is an 8 or 9 (on a scale from 1-10).

We had to eat in the car because the kids were asleep and didn't want to interrupt their nap time :)
Then to the beach so Rock can have some fun!
This was Key's first time at the beach and all she did was sleep, but it worked out because she is too little for the hot sun.

Rocks for Rock

PJ and Brian drove cross country to get home early, PJ surprised me being home on our 3rd anniversary and surprised Rock with rocks from Arizona. Rock loves rocks! Whenever he is outside he'll look for little rocks to hold, and put in cracks or holes, although his obsession for them lasts for 5 minutes, he still looks for them wherever we go.

PJ and I pray he will come to know the real rock upon which we stand---Christ our Lord.

A random wet day...

With the possibility of us moving away from family, it's nice to cherish fun memories with family.
